5 Solo Travel Essentials You MUST HAVE to Stay Safe at Walt Disney World

What are the solo travel essentials you need for your vacation?

As you would imagine, Disney is probably a secure safe haven for us all where we can unwind, relax and know that we are, for the most part, always going to be well taken care of.

Nonetheless, it is important that we remember that one of Disney’s keys to guest satisfaction is “Safety.”

With that being said, guests as well as Cast Members should be on their guard and make sure themselves and everyone around them are safe to enjoy everything the parks have to offer.

As a frequent solo traveler and a woman, it’s majorly important for me to have these kinds of tools with me just in case of an emergency.

Today, I will be introducing you to five of my favorite must have safety travel items to make your solo travels a lot more of a breeze.

1. Lewis N Clark Travel Door Alarm

This portable door alarm is perfect for traveling anywhere. It works not only on doors, but windows and can even be placed on your bags and luggage.

Dolphin Hotel Resort with Lagoon

While you cannot access Disney hotels without a key or MagicBand, this is still perfect for those situations where you never know who may be able to gain access. The alarm is lightweight and features a flashlight.

How does the travel door alarm work?

It works is that it has a loop that you can put in between the door and the doorframe.

Once you do this, you loop it around the door handle and congratulations, you’ve set up your hotel door alarm system.

When it is set off, it will emit a high-pitched alarm that is loud enough to wake you up along with others in the vicinity while deterring off intruders and thieves.

This is a perfect device for bags as well such as if you are at a Disney pool. You can leave your bag unattended without worry with your alarm attached to it.

 2. GOPURE Water Purifier

If you are a frequent visitor to the parks, you know that dining there is not cheap. And buying bottles of water constantly at Disney to stay hydrated will hurt your wallet and the environment.

BUT if you’re like me, you’re weary of tap water when traveling to different locations. That’s where the GOPURE Water Purifier comes in.

This portable purifier features an advanced ceramic core made from DE and trace silver that attracts impurities like a magnet to it away from your drinking water.

Its power is phenomenal as it can purify up to 264 gallons of tap water and can be conveniently used with any kind of bottle, cup, mug, mason jar, etc.

These pods have been proven to remove chemicals like chlorine, lead, chromium and even cancer-causing chemicals from tap water.

They are available on Amazon starting at $24.95, lasts for 6 months and are BPA free.

3. Medical ID Bracelets

If you are like me, then you may have food allergies and that’s normal. Disney is generally very good with working with guests when it comes to food allergies and extremely accommodating.

When dining at a restaurant, the chef will usually come to your table to confirm your allergy to make sure the dish you want will not contain it.

Or they may suggest which dishes won’t contain it and personally make sure you’re safe.

However, this can’t always be the case when it comes to quick service locations or maybe you forget to put your allergy in your reservation notes.

Welcome to the world of Medical ID jewelry. And yes, I do own one and I’m only 28 years old.

Why you need to have a Medical ID Bracelet on your solo trip

Contrary to myth, these are not only for the elderly. These are useful to those with diabetes, heart conditions or allergies like myself.

If something were to happen, you would have this on you and Reedy Creek, along with Cast Members would be able to quickly get to work with what needed to be done to assist you.

Wearing Medical ID jewelry like the one linked, could be a matter of life or death in some cases when it comes to traveling solo so it’s important to have some your medical information somewhere on your person.

This is the easiest access in my opinion for others to help you.

The one I’ve linked is affordable and can be personalized for you to place your medical needs on it. Thankfully I haven’t had to use it but Safety begins with me.

This may be one of the most important things you should consider putting on your solo travel safety must have list without certainty. Especially when traveling solo to a place you’ve never been before, it’s so important to have this safety net.

When booking a Disney package, you do have the option to include travel insurance. You can opt to get your own coverage however and I would recommend it for every trip.

Travel insurance covers everything from medical accidents, car accidents, lost luggage and everything in between.

So many things can go wrong when it comes to traveling so why set yourself up for that and instead be prepared for the inevitable?

We will all lose our luggage at least once in our lifetime so might as well be covered for it and not have to spend extra money. Making it one of the top solo travel essentials.

 5. RFID Travel Safe Wallet

Last but not least, one of the things solo travelers worry about most is losing their wallet, having it stolen or having someone use technology to steal their debit/credit card information while trying to enjoy their vacation.

Nowadays, you don’t have to have your cards leave your wallet in order to have your money stolen. Solo Travelers are prime targets for theft, especially in places they aren’t familiar with.
