Since a lot of the park is focused on the sights and cuisine, there aren’t quite as many rides as the other parks – but all of them are incredible.
That means rides can have long wait times, and Disney’s Genie+ system is needed to save you time by skipping the lines!

Why is the Disney Genie Plus Service Important for Your Trip?
The Disney’s Genie Plus reservation system is a replacement of the old FastPass system.
It allows you to pre-select attractions to skip the standby line by entering a “Lightning Lane.”
All you need to do is download the My Disney Experience App, purchase the Genie+ for your party on the day you want to use it, and you’ll be ready to select the rides and shows you want to skip the lines for!
Genie+ costs around $25-$30 per person per day but can vary a lot based on the time of year you visit.

How does the Disney Genie Plus Service at EPCOT work?
You select a one hour window of time to arrive at the attraction, then hop in the Lightning Lane line to skip most of the wait!

1. Test Track
Out of all the rides in the park, Test Track is the one with the most consistent long wait times. The ride, located in World Discovery, takes you through the paces of a simulated car test.
After you create your own vehicle design, you’ll zip around the track, testing the limits of your car.
The ride ends with a speedy cycle around the outside of the building, reaching speed of 65 miles per hour (mph).

Since it’s something most everyone in the park wants to ride, it maintains a long wait throughout the day.
With Genie+, you’ll be able to skip out on the long line and often save yourself over an hour of waiting!
2. Frozen Ever After
Located in the Norway Pavilion of World Showcase, this exciting boat ride takes you through Arendelle and the story of Frozen.
You’ll ride by Olaf, Sven, Anna, and Elsa and of course hear the iconic “Let It Go” theme.

Giving the unending popularity of the Frozen films, the ride always has a long wait.
It also has a relatively low capacity of riders, since the ride was originally Maelstrom, a ride more focused on the history and culture of Norway itself.

3. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure
Serving as one of EPCOT’s newest additions, this trackless 3D ride takes you through a story featuring Remy and his friends from Disney Pixar’s Ratatouille film.
It’s a great family ride and combines 3D screens and physical sets in a unique way.

The ride is especially useful for Genie+ reservations later in the day, when most guests have made their way to the back of the park and are navigating the World Showcase.

4. Soarin’ Around the World
Though Soarin’ is considered by many to be one of EPCOT’s best attraction, it doesn’t quite garner the massive wait times that other rides do.
Therefore, it’s still a great pick, but shouldn’t be your top priority for Genie+ reservations.

5. Meet Anna and Elsa
As mentioned earlier when discussing Frozen, the movie and characters are extremely popular.
If you have kids, or just an interest in meeting them yourself, it can be highly beneficial to grab a Genie+ reservation for their meet and greet.

Why? Because the wait times are consistently long, and you want to be as relaxed and cheerful as possible when meeting Anna and Elsa!

6 Beginner Tips and Tricks to Get the Most out of Your Genie Plus Reservations at EPCOT
EPCOT, overall, doesn’t have a high number of attractions. That means you should be looking for quality over quantity in the park.
This includes a well-timed schedule that doesn’t force you to cross the entire park to get to or from a reservation!
Here are some additional tips to ensure your EPCOT visit goes smoothly:
- You can make your first EPCOT Genie Plus selection at 7 a.m., then one every 2 hours after (or earlier if you use the reservations quickly).
- Make your first selection for Test Track, and try to choose a time in the late morning. That way, you can start your day elsewhere with the low waits, then use the Genie+ once the park starts to get busy!
- You want to focus on the top three choices, but Spaceship Earth or Mission: Space aren’t bad picks either, especially later in the day if you have leftover picks.
- Use the World Showcase entertainment and shows to help you time your day properly. China, America, France, and Canada all have movie-type shows, and many countries also feature performers that are well worth seeing!
- You can also start on either side of the World Showcase – Mexico first if you have a reservation for Frozen Ever After soon, and Canada if you have a reservation for Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure soon.
- Genie+ Lightning Lane reservations work 5 minutes before OR 15 minutes after your selected window of time. Be sure to plan your timing carefully to use this secret to your advantage!
