Knott’s Berry Farm is known as a park for locals and for its awesome specialty events and coasters, as a Cedar Fair Park.
It is also known for being one of the oldest theme parks in the country, with a treasured history with its humble beginnings growing boysenberries.
But something I learned very quickly during my visits to Knott’s Berry Farm is that they have a good chunk of unique and delicious food and treat offerings to try!

1. Boysenberry Tart
To no one’s surprise, trying a boysenberry treat is a must!
During my first visit last year, I made a point to ask staff members which boysenberry treat I must try as a first timer and most of them said a pie.
However, I decided to try a tart instead as it was smaller and I didn’t want to waste a pie in case I didn’t end up liking it.
Why I Love This Food at Knott’s Berry Farm
Texture may be a factor for you here but the winner was the buttery crust combined with the tart and sweet flavor of the Boysenberry! Making it one of the best things to eat at Knott’s Berry Farm.
The seeds were a bit much for me but overall, the flavors were truly delightful! Very different from what I expected from pies but not in a bad way at all!
Boysenberry treats like this can be found all around the park but I found most of them in the Ghost Town Bakery.
2. Knott’s Famous Chicken Dinner
Knott’s Berry Farm is known for their love of boysenberries and their fried chicken!
The meal can be found across from the park at “Mrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant.”
First serving up guests in 1934, it is one of the most popular in California and still serves up its most famous dish, the chicken dinner.
Why I Love This Food at Knott’s Berry Farm
The theme of the restaurant is inspired by a western farmhouse and still maintains a ton of its historical value. In short, I would suggest making a reservation in advance.
I got the Mrs. Knott’s Famous Fried Chicken entree, which cost about $30. However, for what I got, I found it to be worth it!
It comes with mashed potatoes and country style gravy, and I opted for Boysenberry Punch, my new addiction currently.
I found the chicken to be crispy, crunchy and well seasoned. The mashed potatoes could have been a bit more moist, so I’m thankful for the gravy!
Otherwise, I absolutely get the hype and tradition of the classic restaurant and can’t believe I missed out on it the first time!
Shout out to Mrs. Knott’s for her amazing cooking that is still beloved to this day almost 90 years later! Making it some of the best food at Knott’s Berry Farm.
3. Calico Tater Tots
Tater tot meals have recently become one of my favorite, go-to theme parks dishes and the ones over at Calico Tater Tots in Ghost Town hit the mark for me!
During Seasons of Fun, when they are running a limited time event, they will have tots specially for the event itself.
For example, during the previous Knott’s Berry Farm PEANUTS Celebration, they served up Pepperoni and Cheese Tater Tots.
Why I Love This Food at Knott’s Berry Farm
During my first visit, I came across the booth after getting off of Ghostrider and actually looking for the Boysenberry items!
I decided to grab the BBQ Pulled Pork Tots for $11.25 but with my discount, it was about $9.
It boasted BBQ pulled pork, shredded cheese and fried Jalapeno strips.
Normally, I’m not a fan of spice but the strips really added a mild kick that I really enjoyed and added to the inspiration of its Ghost Town theme.
Now these are Loaded Tater Tots so keep in mind that you are getting a lot of food.
These tots can easily be shared by two people, so no need to get individuals if you don’t mind sharing. Just ask for an extra box to split it up in.
Overall, this is certainly a dish I get every visit! Plus, it will keep you filled up for a while making it some of the best food at Knott’s Berry Farm.

4. Grande Nachos
Located in Fiesta Village, you can find some eye popping and drool inducing nachos at Casa California Restaurante!
Why I Love This Food at Knott’s Berry Farm
The meals here are also big enough to share but for me, when it comes to nachos, I’m not a sharing type of gal, haha!
If you decide to get the Grande Nachos a La Carte, it’ll cost you about $15.50 and topped with your choice of chicken or carne asada (prices may change at anytime).
I usually go carne asada. It comes with standard nachos toppings like cheese, sour cream, guacamole.
You can ask for certain items not be placed on if there are dietary restrictions or if there’s something you just aren’t a fan of.
For example, I didn’t want Jalapenos and it was no trouble!
What makes it one of the best things to eat at Knott’s Berry Farm for me is that it has a genuine, authentic feel and taste to it. Plus, I love that it’s customizable to an extent.
5. Stuffed Churro
One of the most recent faves to hit the block is the Stuffed Churro from the Churro Factory.
Normally, I’m hesitant to try because not all theme park churros are created equal.
But stuff it? Okay, now you have me extremely intrigued.
So I waltzed over to the Churro Factory and I was so excited!
How Stuffed Churro works at Knott’s Berry Farm is that you can choose from 3 fillings:
- Bavarian Cream
- Strawberry
- Boysenberry
I chose boysenberry and opted for a chocolate dipping sauce. Stuffed Churros will cost you about $7.50 while a strawberry, boysenberry or chocolate dipping sauce is only 0.99 cents (prices can change at anytime).
Why I Love This Food at Knott’s Berry Farm
Compared to treats I have seen at other theme parks, this was fairly affordable. Overall, having it stuffed changed the game for me!
It added a brand new dimension on flavor and adding a dipping sauce really made it such an enjoyable and yummy treat. It’s not messy and it’s an “on-the-go” snack.”
6. Cowboy Brisket Fries
Lastly, we have the scrumptious and filling Cowboy Brisket Fries at Wilderness Broiler. I tried these on my last visit and all I can say is wow!
Located next to the Wilderness Broiler, you can find this dish for $15 and let me tell you that you will get your money’s worth.
Why I Love This Food at Knott’s Berry Farm
This dish features fries, steak, guacamole, garlic and chili cheese fries! The garlic almost turned me away believe it or not…but wow!
These flavors together made one heck of a meal and truly something a cowboy would probably eat.
You get a lot, its hearty and most importantly, its majorly delicious.
I do wish the steak was seasoned a bit better but otherwise, you cannot walk away from Knott’s Berry Farm without trying this one out!
This kept me filled up for most of my day and it can be shared. Making it some of the best food at Knott’s Berry Farm
7. Boysenberry Punch
Now I could not end this guide without talking about my newest addition, the Boysenberry Punch!
It takes the flavors of the famous fruit and makes it into a fan-favorite drink that’s both heavenly and refreshing for a warm spring and summer day.
It’s so popular that you can purchase the Boysenberry Punch Concentrate and Preserves online to create your own concoction at home!

Knott’s Berry Farm has such a unique, diverse and fun dining experience!
Ultimately, they do have plenty of options available for the pickiest eaters, ones with dietary restrictions, snackers and everyone in between.
Beyond boysenberry and fried chicken, Knott’s offers up some truly amazing dishes!
