What to Expect at Universal Terra Luna Resort
Terra Luna isn’t your typical hotel; it’s actually a 750-room galactic adventure that’s co-owned by Loews Hotels & Co.
The name of the resort translates to “earth moon,” and it truly stands out!
When you step inside, you’ll be amazed by the stunning architecture.
There are over 140,000 hand-placed, acid-washed tiles that create a spacey vibe, making you feel like you’re gliding through the universe.

Let’s kick things off by talking about the vibe at this resort.
Walking into the lobby felt like stepping into a sleek, futuristic destination—imagine a cool getaway on another planet, but with the gorgeous Florida sunshine streaming in through the windows.
There’s plenty of space so you won’t feel cramped next to other guests, yet it’s cozy enough that everything you need is just a quick stroll away.
And don’t forget to head up to the 3rd floor to take in that amazing planetarium ceiling view!

Location
You know what they say—location is everything! Terra Luna is a short bus ride or walk to Epic Universe and only 2 miles away from the Orange County Convention Center.
How far is Terra Luna Resort from the Universal Orlando theme parks?
While it’s a bit further (15 to 20 minute bus ride) from the original Universal Parks (Islands of Adventure, Universal Studios, and Volcano Bay), the trade-off is being first in line for Epic Universe when it opens.
On my stay, I took the bus over to CityWalk to have lunch at Toothsome Chocolate Emporium and it was a 13 minute drive on my visit.
Keep in mind that this was on a Saturday around 11 a.m so if the traffic backup on Kirkman, this could be a bit longer.
Hipster Power Tip: Plan at least one “resort day” during your stay to fully enjoy Terra Luna’s amenities!
Transportation Options and Pricing
Navigating your way around is super easy with free transportation to Universal Orlando’s top spots.
The shuttles are always on the move, so you won’t be stuck waiting and can make the most of your time in the park.
If you’re driving, just a heads up that overnight parking costs $30 a night.
Pricing and Booking Information
I want to go over the price and resort fees for this Universal Orlando Resort hotel.
How much does it cost to stay at Universal Terra Luna Resort?
If you’re looking for a great spot to stay, Terra Luna is a Prime Value hotel that really nails the mix of comfort and affordability.
You can snag a room starting at just $159 a night, which is a solid deal in Orlando!

And it gets even better with awesome perks like Early Park Admission—this way, you can get a head start on the crowds by a whole hour!
Oh, and I managed to score a Florida Resident deal that helped me save some cash too (I ended up paying $123 per night).
Hipster Power Tip: Book directly through Universal’s website or Hotels.com for the best rates and package deals!
Booking Requirements
Planning to book? Keep in mind you’ll need to be 21 years or older to reserve a room, and you’ll need to show ID at check-in.
Just be sure to book well in advance if you’re planning to visit during peak seasons (summer, holidays, spring break) as this new hotspot is sure to fill up quickly!
Are pets allowed at Universal Terra Luna Resort?
Unfortunately, your furry friends will need to stay home—Terra Luna doesn’t permit pets.
Resort Features and Amenities
Now that you have the basic information, it’s time for me to break down the room and amenities offered at the resort.
Guest Accommodations
The rooms at Terra Luna are absolutely amazing (I just had to say it)!
Each one has this cool cosmic vibe that will have you taking photos for Instagram before you’ve even unpacked your bags.
From what I read on Universal’s website, most of the rooms are Standard Double Queen.
Now, while that might sound pretty standard, they’re actually super cozy and modern, featuring subtle hints of the universe in their colors and design.
You’ll find plenty of lighting options throughout the space, plus there’s an extra curtain by the bathroom for that added privacy.
If you’re looking for a clean and comfy spot to crash after a long day at the park, this room is just right for you!
Hipster Power Tip: Request a room on the higher floors for the best views of the surrounding area—you might even catch a glimpse of the Epic Universe coaster in action!
Amenities
The standout feature at Terra Luna’s outdoor area has got to be the huge resort-style pool.
It’s practically calling your name, just waiting for you to jump in after a long day of exploring the parks in the Florida heat!

Other cool amenities include:
- Poolside movies under the stars (how fitting!)
- A games room to keep your little ones entertained
- An amazing fitness center for working off those park sweet treats
- Free WiFi (a must!)
- A hot tub
- Universal Studios Store (while you’re there, look inside the cool hole in the wall next to the gift store!)

Just so you know, the poolside movies usually start around dusk, so grab your spot early and order a snack from the pool bar to complete the experience!
Dining Options
You won’t go hungry at Terra Luna, that’s for sure!
The resort offers several dining options ranging from grab-and-go to sit-down experiences such as:
- Omega Cafe and Market
- Moonrise Bar and Moonrise Grill
- Luna Bar
- Pizza Delivery
The pool bar and grill is a great spot for laid-back lunches, and the main restaurant dishes out filling meals to keep you energized for your theme park fun!

My Review and Experience
I was super fortunate to book a stay before the new park opens, and I’ve got to say, Terra Luna really delivers!

The cosmic theme is just the right mix of immersive and laid-back, unlike some of those over-the-top themed hotels you find in Orlando.
Pros
The staff here was just wonderful—so friendly and genuinely excited to help out!
My room was super clean and cozy, plus the Wi-Fi was lightning fast, which was a lifesaver for sharing my vacation photos!
I really enjoyed how open and bright the lobby felt, and I thought my room’s design was fantastic.

Even though it was a bit on the smaller side, the big windows, cool couch, and stylish details made it feel way more spacious.
Please try not to stress about the room size! You’ll have more than enough room to stash your bags, luggage, and any shopping you do in the good-sized cabinets in your room.
Something to note is that the beds are decent. Not the best and not the worst.
And honestly, it’s not as noisy or wild as I thought it would be for a larger, budget-friendly resort. Oh, and I really liked the lighting around the vanity area in the room!
I loved being able to text the staff directly from my phone for anything I needed; it was really handy, especially for requests or checking out.

The food at Omega Cafe and Market was okay. I got to try the Terra Burger and the Buttermilk-brined Fried Chicken, and they were both mediocre and not as good as the food in Stella Nova’s restaurant.

And let me tell you, the best part was watching the sunset from the pool deck while enjoying a glass of wine. Absolute bliss and the perfect way to enjoy a vacation (…at least to me)!
Cons
I’m going to give a few cons because of course, nothings perfect. However, I wish that there were:
- Better food options as they weren’t too impressive on my visit
- A variety of room types for larger families
- Better walking path to Epic Universe is needed
- A much better location (it’s not in the heart of all of the action)
Something to note is that the bathroom has just a few basic toiletries that have a neutral scent. They’re nothing fancy, so it might be a good idea to pack your own products!

As you can see, Terra Luna Resort is shaping up to be a fantastic addition to Universal Orlando’s hotel lineup and I like the vibe here.
With its competitive pricing, unique theming, and prime location next to Epic Universe, it’s bound to become a favorite for Universal enthusiasts.

Whether you’re a family looking for an affordable but fun stay, a couple seeking a convenient base for park adventures, or a solo traveler wanting to immerse yourself in Universal’s newest offerings, Terra Luna has something for everyone.
What are you waiting for? The stars are aligning for your next Orlando adventure at Terra Luna Resort!
