Arrive Early
Being an early bird pays off big time at Epic Universe!
This is one of the best tips I can share with you from my experience visiting Universal’s newest theme park!
Arriving at least 30 minutes before the official opening gives you a crucial head start on those popular attractions.
The psychology behind early arrival isn’t just about anxiety, it’s about maximizing your day and experiencing more with shorter wait times.
Just use this quiet morning time to snap photos without crowds photobombing your perfect shots!

Stop 1: Harry Potter and the Ministry of Magic
All of my fellow Potterheads, rejoice!

This new magical realm takes you inside the British Ministry of Magic for the first time.
In my opinion, it is one of the most immersive Harry Potter experiences yet. The special effects are absolutely mind-blowing!

I love that the main attraction lets you journey through the Ministry’s departments while facing Dark forces.
It all feels so incredibly real!

All the little details and amazing architecture that went into this Potter-inspired area left me speechless.
It is literally pure magic!

I also recommend you don’t miss the chance to cast spells with interactive wands and sample British wizarding treats like Butterbeer ice cream.
They are some of the most epic things to do in this enchanting Wizarding World and all part of this magical experience!
HIPSTER POWER TIP: Visit the Ministry first thing or during dinner hours when lines are shortest.
Stop 2: Dark Universe
Now it’s time to step into Universal’s classic monster universe, where creatures like Dracula and Frankenstein’s Monster await.
It’s my favorite land to hang out in when I’m at Epic Universe!

The showcase attraction, “Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment,” is a motion simulator and horror show all in one.
It combines cutting-edge ride technology with horror elements for an intensely real experience.

You have to try a themed cocktail at the Burning Blade!
The drinks change color before your eyes, and I love dining with the vampires at Das Stakehaus!

Just remember that this area gets busier after dark (fitting!), so visit mid-morning for shorter waits.
Stop 3: Super Nintendo World
It’s at this point in the day when you’ll want to head over to Super Nintendo World.
Gaming fans will find paradise in this interactive wonderland based on beloved Nintendo franchises.
The Mario Kart: Bower’s Challenge ride uses augmented reality to put you right in the driver’s seat of this iconic game.

You’ll also get the chance to collect digital coins throughout the land using a Power-Up Band for special interactions and leaderboard status.
Don’t miss the mushroom-shaped snacks and the colorful drinks, they taste as good as they look!
Be sure to purchase your Power-Up Band early to maximize gameplay opportunities.

Stop 4: Celestial Park
The stunning central hub of Epic Universe serves as more than just a walk-through.
This celestial-themed area features beautiful gardens, interactive water features, and its own stellar attractions.
The Constellation Carousel isn’t your average merry-go-round.

Lifting you 6 feet into the air, it features mythological creatures, stunning lighting effects, and intergalactic glowing lights.

While you’re there, be sure to grab a cosmic-inspired snack from one of the artisanal food carts while enjoying the ambient music.
I always make sure I spend some time here in the heart of Universal Epic Universe amongst the Age of Wonder theming.
HIPSTER POWER TIP: This area provides perfect photo opportunities at sunset when the lighting is magical.
Stop 5: Lunch at Das Stakehaus
When hunger strikes, head to this spooky-inspired eatery in Dark Universe, built over ancient catacombs, for a meal that’s an attraction itself.
The theming transports you to a vampire’s lair with atmospheric lighting and spooky details.
Their signature dish is the “Crimson Glazed Pork,” which is a perfectly cooked premium cut served with dramatic presentation.

Save room for the “Red Velvet Death” dessert that comes with red velvet heart “beet” coffin cake with chocolate crumbs and puffed rice maggots!
HIPSTER POWER TIP: If you want to order food, you’ll have to order on your phone using the Mobile Ordering Service and a Universal Team Member will bring your food to you once the order is completed.
Stop 6: How to Train Your Dragon Isle of Berk
Now it’s time to soar with dragons in this Viking-inspired realm based on the beloved DreamWorks franchise.
The flagship attraction, Hiccups Wing Gliders, lets you actually “fly” on a dragon using innovative ride technology for an amazing roller coaster experience.

This is actually my favorite ride at Epic Universe.

You’ll get lost in this land as I did, while you come in contact with some of the most beloved characters of the franchise, such as Toothless and Hiccup!
Stop 7: The Shows and Entertainment
Epic Universe’s live entertainment options rival the rides in spectacle and fun.

The Celestial Park features a fountain and light show that illuminates the night sky and the waters with magical patterns.

You’ll also see street performers throughout the lands who stay perfectly in character, creating impromptu moments of joy and surprise.

Don’t miss the two most innovative theme park shows in the world: Le Cirque Arcanus (in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter) and The Untrainable Dragon (in the Isle of Berk).
Hipster Power Tip: You can get a good deal on your Universal Orlando Express Pass only on Undercover Tourist!
Stop 8: Re-do the Rides You Missed
As evening approaches, use this time to circle back to must-do attractions you couldn’t fit in earlier.
Many rides offer a completely different experience at night, especially in Dark Universe and Celestial Park.
Single Rider Lines can cut your wait times dramatically if you’re willing to split from your group temporarily.
Stop 9: Explore Epic Universe at Night
My favorite time to wander around Epic Universe is at night.
The park transforms magically after sunset with atmospheric lighting that gives each land a completely different character.

Celestial Park’s pathways illuminate with constellations that appear to move as you walk.
I love that Dark Universe becomes even more spookier (if that is even possible) with enhanced effects and roaming monsters.

Plus, the Ministry of Magic reveals hidden magical elements that only appear after dark.
Best of all, roller coaster rides are much better in the darkness of nightfall!
