Can I say OMG! Where have I been for the past few ThemePark years! Thanks to the wonderful blogger over at Disney Food Blog (and a couple of my friends) for informing me about this wonderful mouthwatering experience at Epcot’s L’Artisian des Glaces. And yes I said experience because it was so much more than an ice-cream treat. The Croque Glace is the type of foodie adventure you have to sit down, be quiet and just relish in the party that’s taking place on your palate.

Holidays at UniversalNew! Universal Holiday Events Announced: Beginning Dec. 6 and running daily through Jan. 3, the Holidays at Universal Orlando features one-of-a-kind traditions. At Universal’s Islands of Adventure, families will light up with holiday cheer as Grinchmas comes to life throughout Seuss Landing. Guests can enjoy a live retelling of Dr. Seuss’s classic holiday tale, “Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular,” featuring the Whos from Who-ville, accompanied by an original musical score by Mannheim Steamroller. Guests can also meet The Grinch and the Whos and on select dates, enjoy a special breakfast with the characters.

At Universal Studios Florida, the Macy’s Holiday Parade will fill the streets every evening with the same larger-than-life balloons seen in Macy’s famous Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. This year, you won’t want to miss the Chloe The Clown “Balloonicle,” a new addition to the parade that combines a towering balloon with a self-powered vehicle that roams the streets of Universal Studios. Guests will also enjoy colorful holiday characters, fantasy-filled floats and a tree-lighting ceremony by Santa Claus.

Three new cupcakes will be sold as part of ‘Frozen Summer Fun’ at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The Olaf cupcake is a carrot cupcake with cream cheese icing and a white chocolate Olaf. The Olaf cupcake is available for just $5.19 at select quick service locations: Studio Catering Co., Pizza Planet Arcade, ABC Commissary, Rosie’s All-American Cafe, Backlot Express, Fairfax Fare, Oaken’s Funland, Starring Rolls Cafe,and Coffee Cart. Anna and Elsa cupcakes are also available. The Anna cupcake is chocolate with buttercream, and the Elsa cupcake is vanilla with buttercream. Both are topped with a themed white chocolate medallion. These cupcakes are available for $5.19 at the following locations: Backlot Express, Oaken’s Funland, and Starring Rolls Cafe. These treats are part of the Disney Dining Plan and will be available through Sept. 1 Sept. 30.

Disney Villains Unleashed Merchandise Announced

Newsaroundmouse8205This week, Disney announced an assortment of event logo merchandise and creative food and beverage to be offered during the Disney Villains Unleashed celebration! Offerings including Disney villain-themed hot dogs and the Maleficent cupcake sounds amazing – dark chocolate cake filled with a decadent blackberry filling topped with smooth blackberry buttercream. At Club Evil in The Hollywood Brown Derby, the Disney chefs will offer an assortment of small plate menu items. These “Villanishious” items include things like “Cruellas Devious Eyes” – fresh mozzarella with ugly ripe tomato spheres, balsamic gelée and basil oil powder – or “The Queen of Hearts famous ‘Off with their heads’”!, which is deviled eggs, pig crackling and a garlic chili gelée and lobster custard with Tobiko caviar and citrus oil.
