Disney Gift Guide: runDisney Gift Edition
Do you know somebody who is a huge runDisney fan and is about to have their first race soon, or perhaps they’re a veteran on their 5th race? If so, I’ll give you a few runDisney merchandise and gift ideas to get for the runner in your family.
Many of my close friends dedicate lots of time prepping for the races hosted through the runDisney organization. Sometimes I don’t even realize just how hard they are training for one race alone.
Plus, there’s the costly financial obligation that can add up quickly to be a part of one of Disney’s famous marathons.
Since the holiday season and the runDisney season is quickly approaching, I thought it would be great to give you a few gift ideas for the runDisney Runner in your life!
THIS POST MAY CONTAIN AFFILIATE LINKS. PLEASE READ MY DISCLOSURE FOR MORE INFO. Which means if you click on certain links, I may receive a small commission at no additional charge to you.
1. Water Bottle
It’s extremely important to stay hydrated during a marathon, especially in the peak summer heat. The Dollar Tree has water bottles that come in many different colors and designs just for you.
You can also find a wide variety of unique Disney-styled water bottles to keep your beverage cool throughout your race on other sites such as Amazon and shopDisney.com.
2. Foam Roller
A foam roller will help your runner loosen up tight muscles when training and will also help prevent any injuries from happening.
This is a must have item for any runner. You can learn more about the importance of a foam roller here.
3. Running Guide Book
There are many books online to help your runner prepare for a race. I recommend getting one such as, Magical Miles: The Runner’s Guide to Walt Disney World, which is made specially for participants of the runDisney races.
Magical Miles: The Runner’s Guide to Walt Disney World offers advice on resorts, restaurants, race registration, packing tips, spectator information, training, race day information and much more!
This guidebook also gives participants peace of mind before heading into their first or fiftieth runDisney event.
Most headbands serve many purposes and are necessary for a runDisney go-getter.
Headbands such as, Lululemon Fly Away Tamer Headband II, not only help hold the hair back, but it is also an excellent choice on holding off the sweat from seeping into the eyes and it won’t slip off of your runner’s head.
5. Entry for Next Race
Payment for an entry to one of the runDisney races is the ultimate gift for that runner in your life.
As mentioned earlier, the cost of participating in a Disney-inpired race can get costly. If you get this for your loved one, you will be the star of the year!
6. Safety Accessories
Identification bracelets with name, medical conditions, allergies, and emergency contact are important just in case your runner experiences anything unmagical.
Reflective visors or night jogging vests will help keep the runner safe during training sessions that may have to take place in the evening.
7. Running Belt
A running belt is a lightweight waist pouch used to hold your runner’s wallet, keys, phones, identification cards and other small racing accessories. I recommend the Fitletic brand, which has a variety of sizes and styles to choose from.
The iFitness Neo II is the best option for a runDisney runner.
8. Running Watch
Watches used for training can range in cost from about $50 to $300 with functions differing based on all the bells and whistles added to the device.
Garmin Forerunner 235 is my recommendation for a watch not too expensive (averages about $219), but still provides features such as wrist-based continuous heart rate monitoring and access to Garmin’s marathon-specific training apps.
9. Gone for a Run Medal Display
Designers at Gone for a Run produce Disney-inspire high-quality medal displays where your runDisney runner can hang each medal from all the races completed.
The magical medal displays also offer racks with inspirational messages to keep your runner inspired throughout the year.
10. Running Tights
When searching for the best running tights, you’ll want to find ones that are good with absorbing moisture, ones that are breathable, soft, sun-protective, and have pockets.
11. Armband for Phone
An armband is a must for those long training days and it’s especially important for race days. Music, inspirational messages, and podcasts can be perfect for a runner getting through that last leg of any marathon.
Armbands will hold your runner’s smartphone in place and can be purchased at many store locations across the country.
12. runDisney Merchandise and Apparel
Graphic sweatshirts with Disney-isms are the new hottest items.
Many Disney fans love rocking their shirts throughout the park and while training, in hopes of some type of reaction from others. This gift option is always easy and cheap.
Order your popular runDisney merchandise here on shopDisney.com.
13. Inspirational Running Socks
Highly themed socks are always a great gift option. These are very popular Disney socks, but they can run on the smaller side in terms of size.
Be sure to get a few with inspirational messages and quotes to keep your runner motivated, which can be found on Amazon.
Glasses are a must-have runDisney item for the bright Florida sunshine. Dollar Tree offers a variety of options that can help block out UV rays for only $1.
If your budget allows you to splurge a little bit, then I recommend Oakley sunglasses that are perfect for a dedicated runner’s life.
15. Wireless Earbuds
If you want a pair of high quality truly wireless earbuds that aren’t the Apple AirPods, then Jabra Elite 65t is my choice. They are comfortable and easy to enjoy on a run.
16. Bibfolio Race Bib Album
A BibFolio allows you to display your runner’s accomplishments that continue to inspire them to run and be active in a creative way.
17. Runner-inspired Cookbook
I recommend Run Fast. Eat Slow.: Quick-Fix Recipes for Hangry Athletes by Shalane Flanagan.
This cookbook written by Olympian, Shalane Flanagan, is full of pre-run snacks, post-run recovery breakfasts, on-the-go lunches, and 30-minutes-or-less dinner recipes.
18. Disney-inspired Wine Glass
Help your runners celebrate their latest race accomplish with a runDisney-inspired wine glass. It’s easy to wrap and makes a great gift.
19. Spa Day
Studies have shown that the frequency of visiting a spa directly correlates with better quality sleep and fewer sick days. This is a must for anyone training for a runDisney race.
A massage improves blood flow to muscles which helps nutrients move throughout the body. Massages also reduces muscle soreness and improves range of motion.
Pedicures during the epic spa day is also a great gift for runners who are tough on their feet. Pedicures help reduce foot related issues that can lead to pain in the shins, knees, hips and other areas that are prone to injuries.
I hope this list for that special runner in your life is helpful. Many of the runDisney merchandise and gift ideas are meant to make each person have a much better experience at these popular Walt Disney World events.
