HIPSTER Review: Busch Garden’s Tampa Howl-O-Scream 2012

This past weekend I made my way over to Busch Gardens for their annual Howl-O-Scream event. To my surprise I had a great time! Getting there early really helped me optimize my time and I was able to go through five of the six houses (I skipped the shows this year to focus on the haunted attractions).

ThemeParkHipster Throwback Thursday: Boardwalk and Baseball

Boardwalk and Baseball

Boardwalk and Baseball was my introduction into the world of theme parks. The short stay of the park was sad. I have always wished that it had stayed around so that I could have experienced it again at an older age. It was located outside of Orlando, Fl in Davenport at the corner of I-4 and Hwy 27.

“Halloween Horror Nights XXII Survival Guide”

I am such a scaredy-cat that I wonder why I place myself in paid situations to be frightened. I started going to Universal Orlando Halloween Horror Nights (HHN) back in 2005 and I became addicted to the fun, excitement, and detail that Universal puts into this event. I am going to share with you my HHN survival guide for 2012:

“Lions, Tigers, and Flowers???”

I finally had an opportunity to visit Busch Gardens Tampa Bay this week. I went with the intention of taking pictures for the site; however, I ended up getting on various thrill rides and getting caught up in the picturesque landscaping of the park.
My friend was getting extremely annoyed, because every few minutes I would stop to take a picture of the beautifully layered flowers and the lush trees outlining the park’s pathway.

At one point he said, “I thought you were here to take pictures of the attractions and signage?”

It was at that point that I thought about how many times I’ve visited this place and never truly grasp the degree of care that the employees put into upholding the true beauty of Busch Gardens. A beauty that makes you feel as if you’re in another world.

“Vino, Vino, Vino! That’s why I love Epcot.”

I think I have found my new hidden adult play spot in EPCOT. Italy is slowly becoming my favorite Pavilion in the World Showcase. Why? Let’s start off by talking about the extensive wine selection at the newest addition to Italy, Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar.

HIPSTER Photo of the Week: Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

Hipster Photo of the Week: Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is going on now through November 2, 2012. I have not had a chance to visit yet, but the décor shown during the regular park hours does set the mood for the start of fall.

This is a kid friendly spooktacular event, but if you want to get dressed up and bring out the kid in you this will be a great place to start.

“I will walk through the Hallows!”

Hallows Party at Universal Halloween Horror Nights

Each year I look forward to the yearly Halloween events that take place around central Florida and this year is no different. This time I am promising myself that I will go into each haunted maze with a determined attitude to keep my eyes open the entire time, and to keep my screams to the bare MINIMUM….meaning instead of a constant song of screams, I will keep it to just a quick random chorus of squeals.

“Fall Event Jitters”

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay

I’ve been working seven days straight without having the chance to check out the latest fall décor over at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. This is mostly due to my night shifts that leave me extremely tired the next day.

“Riesling mixed with blogging….What kind of writing is that?”

Theme park hopping has always been a passion of mine since early childhood; however, I had to “crawl before I walked” in relation to the hierarchy of amusement parks out here. I wanted to visit Walt Disney World since my first conception of theme parks, but I started my early years out at places such as Board Walk and Baseball, SeaWorld Orlando, Cypress Gardens, and Universal Studios Orlando (which was absolutely awesome in the 90s).

“Keeping the Magic until the End”

ThemeParkHipster LogoThis blog is for the young at heart who love the non-traditional way of park hopping. We have grown up with the love of the whimsical magic that the parks here in central Florida have come to display; however, as adulthood sneaks upon us we are expected to “put away” childish things and to live in a constant reality.
