2015 Epcot Food and Wine Festival Complete Guide

2015 Epcot Food and Wine Festival Complete Guide

No it’s not Christmas in September, but it sure feels like! To Disney enthusiasts it’s our most wonderful time of the year, the 20th Epcot International Food and Wine Festival! Our yuletide, stomach-stuffing delight is just what we need to complete every year. If you haven’t been before, then it would be slightly hard for you to understand our obsession with every detail regarding this wonderful festival.

The Epcot Food and Wine Festival will feature more than 30 global marketplaces with dates from September 25th through November 16th… So I take it as my duty to inform both new comers and returnees of everything each person will need to know for the 2015 Epcot Food and Wine Festival!

What’s New at the 2015 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival?

Epcot Food & Wine Festival Expands to Future World

For the first time ever, the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival will be in the Future World section of Epcot with four new food and beverage marketplaces. The new Artistry of Wine & Cheese festival area will feature the Cheese Studio (offering a cheese sampler served on an artist’s palette to pair with wines) and the Wine Studio (offering premium wines on tap). The Cheese and Wine Studio will be located along the walkway toward Future World West.

New Next Eats Area will debut with Sustainable Chew and Chew Lab marketplaces inspired by ABC’s The Chew. Both marketplaces will be located near the Epcot Character Spot.

ABC’s “The Chew” to join the 20th Annual Epcot International Food & Wine Festival

As mentioned above, ABC’s The Chew will be joining Epcot Food and Wine Festival. The popular television show will be taping five episodes from the park October 7th through 9th (airing October 12th through 16th).  According to Disney Parks Blog, The Chew will explore Disney restaurants that offer innovative, fun and healthful dining choices and share some of their favorites.  Sustainable Chew Marketplace will feature dishes inspired by The Chew co-hosts and flavored by herbs and vegetables harvested from The Land pavilion greenhouses.

11 Tips for Epcot Food & Wine Festival

Festival Center

Festival Center

  1. Get there early: Coming early to the Food and Wine Festival will give you a chance to pace yourself by enjoying the attractions in Future World, allowing you to take your time globetrotting around World Showcase.
  2. Start in the Festival Center: Starting here is a must! It opens two hours before World Showcase and it is a good way to enjoy a few seminars and chat with the Cast Members, possibly gaining some insider tips. In the Festival Center you find passports to start your world adventure, the wine shop, Intermissions Café, The Chocolate Experience, Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak, Bottles and Book Signings, a wine making film, and a Back to Basics simple tips and tricks for dinner parties.
  3. Go during the weekdays: For the best time I recommend attending the festival during the weekdays (Monday through Thursday).
  4. Plan to visit multiple times: You will need a trip to try it all, a trip for seminars, and a trip to retry your favorites 🙂
  5. Buy a Disney wristlet gift card: Tasting the many samples without a set budget could turn a fun trip into one of financial regret…trust me, I’ve made this mistake a few times. Be sure to put buying a Disney wristlet gift card at the top of your priority list.
  6. Attend the seminars: There’s no better way to enjoy the event than attending the amazing variety of classes. The classes are done very well and are lots of fun!
  7. Split the cost: Going with a friend or two or three lowers your budget and makes the event memorable. You can share and really make the most of the dishes without leaving the park broke.
  8. Plan for a cab or have a designated driver in the group: Previewing the festival’s menu gives you an idea of what delicious treats can be expected. There are lots of drinks (mostly adult inspired) that will hopefully leave you balanced and able to walk out. Be sure to have a plan for this kind of indulgence, it makes for a safe and fun experience at Epcot.
  9. Map out your day: This is another classic tip for any avid Disney traveler. Mapping out your day will save you the headache of missing out on cool things especially if you’re only able to visit once. This tip is very important, because it will help guide you on where to find the marketplaces, what time seminars/events will occur, and any additional information regarding speakers, performers, and other special Disney guests.
  10. Reservations are Your Friend: Most Food and Wine Festival fans know that the small spots for the great classes fill up fast; therefore, it is highly recommended to reserve what seminar or event you’re the most excited to attend.
  11. Have Fun! You’re really going to have a great time, so try not to stress too much if you find yourself spending too much time at the marketplaces or in the classes. There’s always something going on in the park that will bring great delight to your heart. Have fun, learn something, eat well, and drink up!

I hope this post helped guide you towards a great experience at the 20th Epcot International Food & Wine Festival!

I’m a writer who loves ALL things amusement park related. I was born and raised in Florida, which attributes to my Theme Park passion. Every since I was a child I had a natural affinity to the parks here that has now spilled over into adulthood. Instead of rushing over to the thrill rides, like I used to, you may find me in the Italy Pavilion at EPCOT enjoying a nice glass of wine and a delightful book!
